Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in mainframe development with a focus on PL/1, Mainframe, and JCL.
- Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and technologies.
- Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting mainframe applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of security best practices in the mainframe environment is a plus.
- Mainframe certifications are a plus but not required.
Job Description:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using PL/1, Mainframe, and JCL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and design solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
- Debug and resolve issues in existing mainframe applications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Perform code reviews and provide guidance to junior developers to ensure best practices and coding standards are followed.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for mainframe applications, including design specifications, coding standards, and user manuals.
- Ensure the security and compliance of mainframe applications, implementing necessary controls and measures.
- Optimize and tune mainframe applications for performance and resource utilization.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate mainframe development processes.
