Requirements:

  • Knowledge on Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, RDS, DFS, PKI infrastructure, ADFS, IIS, etc.
  • Virtualisation technologies (VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, VUM, vROPs, vRA, vRO)
  • HP servers incl. HP Blades/c7000 enclosures, HP OneView
  • HDS VSP/HNAS knowledge, including replication technologies (TrueCopy/HUR), Dell/EMC SAN
  • Ability to support a virtual environment with above technologies.
  • Excellent investigation and troubleshooting skills of complex issues
  • Capability to determine and highlight risks (migration risks, design risks etc.) to Management.
  • Dedicated in working within an ITIL environment.
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell) of advantage
  • Microsoft System Center Configurations Manager (SCCM), IBM BigFix & System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Knowledge
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in an IT related discipline
  • Breadth of knowledge across network, database and storage area network disciplines
  • Good listening skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Job Description:

  • Administer (monitor, support, prevent, maintain, fix, improve) the virtual and physical VMware & HP blade infrastructure.
  • Provide project support as required.
  • Provide shift & weekend coverage and on call where required.
  • Examines the performance of current systems/databases
  • Liaises with vendors on hardware issues
  • Performs proactive maintenance and management of servers
  • Provides assistance during incidents to minimise incident impact
  • Presents, analyses and evaluates data clear and concisely
  • Produces specifications for new or modified systems
  • Develops and maintains training materials and systems documentation for educating end users and new technical staff.
